How to Build a Bat House with Bat House Plans
This video goes into detail on building a bat house with bat house plans. The creator of the video has many educational videos on outdoor projects and “green living.”
For your bat house you’re gonna want to go to your local hardware store or lumber yard and buy a sheet of outdoor plywood at 2 foot by 4 foot. Many times you can bring the cutting instructions to the lumber yard and they’ll cut them for you.
Bats like their living conditions to be warm, so we want to build this and paint it a dark color as well as staining the interior of the bat house with a dark stain. The other step you’ll want to do on the inside of the bat house is to create deep scratches for the bats to grab onto or you can attach wire mesh, this is probably an easier option.
You’ll also want to be sure to build the house in a water proof structure, so use plenty of carpentry caulk. Bats also like it high up off of the ground, at least a minimum of 12 feet or higher if you can.
We found a great program that shows how to build over 14,000 woodworking projects including bat house plans, if you’d like to check it out, simply click here.

Is it me or does this dude look like a bat? Kinda creeping me out.
Well Jeremy, I would love to disagree with you but to be honest I cannot! Great observation!
